Contemporary art magazine Bijutsu Techou announced that a new "unique" TV anime, titled 6HP (Six Heart Princess) and created by Takashi Murakami, will be aired in 2016. The announcement was given with a key visual drawn by JNTHED and displayed on the back cover of the magazine's February issue, released on January 17th. The front cover featured a sketch of Gundam.
The PV for the series, released in both English and Japanese, was given with a call for staff in June 2013. A music video was also made for the 2013 Christmas cosmetic collection by Shu Uemura which was based on the anime project.
