
The official site for Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon has revealed that the previously announced third arc of the series, titled Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal: Death Busters-hen, is set to premiere in Spring 2016. In addition, the new series will be directed by Chiaki Kon (Junjou Romantica), and the characters will be designed by Akira Takahashi (DokiDoki! Precure). New cast members will be announced via Niconico Live on January 27.
The original manga, drawn by Naoko Takeuchi, was serialized in Nakayoshi from 1991 to 1997. It completed with eighteen compiled volumes. The original anime series premiered in 1992 and finished in 1997, receiving a total of four sequels. Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal is a remake of the original TV series, which aired biweekly on Niconico from Summer 2014 to Summer 2015. Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon Crystal: Death Busters-hen will adapt the "Death Busters" arc, which was covered in the fifth and sixth volumes of the manga.
