NHK ETV has announced that it will air a TV anime adaptation of Kenji Sonishi's web manga Neko Neko Nihonshi beginning April 6. The series will air on Wednesdays at 6:45 p.m. within the Tensai TV-kun programming block. That time slot is currently occupied by Tantei Team KZ Jiken Note, which has been airing since October.
Neko Neko Nihonshi has been published online by Comic Ruelle since February 2015. The 4-koma series imagines historical figures such as Himiko, Oda Nobunaga, and Sakamoto Ryouma as cats. One volume of the manga is in print, and a second is scheduled to go on sale on February 9.
