Manga 'Barakamon' Ends 10 Year Serialization



The official Twitter account for Satsuki Yoshino's Barakamon manga has announced that the serialization will end on January 2019 issue of Shounen Gangan magazine, to be released on December 12. 18th and final volume, 18+1 volume that includes anthology and illustrations, and a special book Barakamon, Handa-kun Official Tweet Book2 Handa-kun will be released simultaneously on December 12.

Barakamon was released as three one-shot chapters via Gangan Powered magazine on April 2008 issue, October 2008 issue, and April 2009 issue before serialized regularly on Gangan Online monthly on April 21, 2009. The manga has been serialized via Shounen Gangan magazine since August 2014 issue. There are 17 compiled volumes released as of June 12. Kinema Citrus produced the anime adaptation into 12 episodes in Summer 2014. Its Spin-off manga Handa-kun was serialized via Shounen Gangan between October 2013 to September 2016 with seven compiled volumes released. Diomedea produced anime adaptation to the spin-off manga into 12 episodes in Summer 2016.
