Seiyuu Kouji Tsujitani Dies


Reports announced on Tuesday that seiyuu Kouji Tsujitani died last Wednesday October 17 from cerebral infarction. He was 53 years old. The funeral was held among family including his seiyuu wife Kumiko Watanabe and close friends this past weekend.

Born Yasufumi Tsujitani, he entered Gekidan Toei in 1983. He voiced Miroku from the Inuyasha series, Itsuki from Yuu☆Yuu☆Hakusho, Takumi Fujii from the 3x3 Eyes series, Bernard Wiseman from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket, Seabook Arno from Mobile Suit Gundam F91, Justy Ueki Tylor from the Musekinin Kanchou Tylor series, and more. His recent role was Nagamasa Azai from the Sengoku Basara series, and its spin-off series Gakuen Basara is currently airing.

Tsujitani also dubbed foreign works such as Jacques Mayol from Le Grand Bleu and provided narration for Super Soccer. He was also a sound director since 2013 and worked on the Gurazeni series and the Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu TV series, to name a few.

Tsujitani's latest activity was a live event commemorating the recently established mysterious unit Fumihiko Tachiki & BLUSEED, which was held on October 14.
