The official website for the previously announced original TV anime Akudama Drive revealed additional cast, second preview and a new key visual (pictured) on Thursday. The anime will premiere on Thursday, October 8 at 9:30 p.m. on AT-X, followed by broadcasts on Tokyo MX, BS NTV, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and J:TV.

The opening theme from the band SPARK!!SOUND!!SHOW!!,"STEAL!!", is featured in the latest promotional video. The ending theme, "Ready," will be performed by the group Urashimasakatasen.
Kazutaka Kodaka (Danganronpa series) is credited with the original story. Tomohisa Taguchi (Persona series), the lead director for game studio Too Kyo Games, is helming the series at Studio Pierrot with Yoshifumi Sasahara as assistant director. Script writer Norimitsu Kaihou (Kanata no Astra) is handling series composition.
