
During Capcom's Tokyo Game Show 2020 Online livestream on Sunday, the company announced a CG anime series for the Biohazard (Resident Evil) video game franchise, titled Biohazard: Infinite Darkness (Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness). The anime is scheduled to stream worldwide on Netflix in 2021.
Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi (Biohazard: Vendetta) is producing and supervising the series. Studio Quebico and TMS Entertainment will produce the anime.
Capcom published the first Biohazard (Resident Evil) in 1996 on Playstation and spawned multiple sequels, spin-offs, and remakes over the years. The company recently released the Biohazard 3 (Resident Evil 3) remake on April 3 on Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Biohazard Village (Resident Evil Village), the tenth major installment in the series and direct sequel to Biohazard 7: Resident Evil (Resident Evil 7: Biohazard), is scheduled to be released in 2021 on Playstation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The franchise received an original video anime in 2006 and three feature films in 2008, 2012, and 2017.
