Manga 'Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii' Bundles Second OVA

Publishing company Ichijinsha announced a second original video anime for Fujita's Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii (Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku) manga on Wednesday. The new episode will be bundled with the tenth limited edition volume, scheduled for release in 2021.

The episode will focus on the supporting characters Naoya Nifuji and Kou Sakuragi, voiced by Yuki Kaji (Zutto Mae kara Suki deshita.: Kokuhaku Jikkou Iinkai) and Aoi Yuuki (Kino no Tabi: The Beautiful World - The Animated Series), respectively.

The manga also reached a cumulative circulation of 10 million copies with the release of the ninth volume (pictured right) on Wednesday, including digital editions. Fujita drew an illustration (pictured above) to commemorate the announcement.

The romantic comedy manga, also known by its short name Wotakoi, originally launched on pixiv in April 2014. Ichijinsha launched the Comic POOL web magazine in November 2015, where the manga subsequently transferred. The eighth volume shipped on December 13 last year.

A-1 Pictures adapted the manga into an 11-episode television anime in Spring 2018. Amazon's Prime Video streamed the show with subtitles. The seventh limited edition volume included the first original video anime last March.

Kodansha Comics licensed the manga in English in January 2018 and published the fourth volume digitally on July 7, with the physical release planned for October 13.

Ichijinsha announced a live-action film adaptation in July 2018, which premiered in Japan on February 7.
