
The official website of the anime film adaptation of Kanna Kii's Umibe no Étranger (The Stranger by the Beach, L'étranger de la plage) boys' love manga revealed additional cast, the main visual (pictured), and a trailer on Thursday. The film will premiere in theaters in Japan on September 11.

Mina Kubota (Kaleido Star, Nakitai Watashi wa Neko wo Kaburu) is composing the music at Shochiku Music Publishing. J-rock band MONO NO AWARE is performing the theme song "Zokkon."
Voice actors Taishi Murata (Tsukipro The Animation) and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka (Hitorijime My Hero) are reprising the lead characters Shun Hashimoto and Mio Chibana from the 2016 drama CD, respectively.
Akiyo Oohashi (Houseki no Kuni promotional video) is serving as the director, scriptwriter, and drawing the storyboard at Studio Hibari. Original creator Kanna Kii is in charge of the character designs and supervision.
Kii originally published the boys' love manga as a one-shot, which began serializing in onBLUE in April 2013 and ended the following year. The Harukaze no Étranger (The Stranger in the Spring Breeze, L'étranger du Zéphyr) sequel manga began in the same magazine in July 2014. Shodensha shipped the third volume in July 2017.
Umibe no Étranger marks the third title to be produced under Fuji TV's Blue Lynx label, following Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai: The Clouds Gather (Twittering Birds Never Fly) and the Given sequel film.
