It was announced via the March issue of Newtype that an idol anime titled Million Doll will air on TV in Summer 2015. The anime features idol group Itorio from Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and idol otaku Suuko, who uses her own blog to promote the idols. Asahi Production will animate the series and will get the cast through public audition.
Million Doll is a web manga by Ai, who self-identifies as an idol otaku, that is published through the smartphone application GANMA!. It began serialization in December 2013 and has more than 50 chapters published.
