Natsume Yuujinchou Movie' Announces Screening Details


The official website for the previously announced Natsume Yuujinchou Movie has announced its screening details. Titled Natsume Yuujinchou Movie: Utsusemi ni Musubu, the movie will premiere in Japanese theaters on September 29. Most of the staff and cast members will reprise their roles except Hideki Itou (Atom: The Beginning chief animation director) will replace Kotomi Deai's role as director.

The series is based on Yuri Midorikawa's supernatural slice of life manga of the same title. In 2003, it began its serialization in Hakusensha's LaLa DX magazine, then moved to LaLa five years after. The series has released 22 compiled manga volumes so far with the latest volume shipped on September 5 last year. The manga's TV anime adaptation has reached its sixth season which was broadcast in Spring 2017. The most recent TV anime series will receive selection broadcast starting April 4.

Viz Media's Shojo Beat imprint released the manga's 21st volume at the beginning week of the year.
