Second Season of 'Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon' Premieres in 2021


The official website of the Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid) anime series revealed a teaser visual (pictured) for its second season on Tuesday. Kyoto Animation is returning the produce the second season—Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon S (Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid S)—in 2021.

The anime series adapts Cool-kyou Shinja's slice of life comedy manga, which began serialization in Monthly Action's inaugural issue in May 2013. Futabasha published the tenth volume on Tuesday. Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon has a cumulative 2.1 million copies of its compiled volumes in circulation.

Monthly Action also serializes three spin-offs centering on different supporting characters, the latest of which, Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon: Lucoa wa Boku no xx desu, launched last January.

Kyoto Animation produced the 13-episode television anime in Winter 2017. The seventh and final home video volume included an unaired episode in September 2017. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime with subtitles, while Funimation streamed an English dub. The latter also released the anime series on home video in April 2018.

Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga in English in December 2015 and shipped the ninth volume on May 26. The company is also publishing the Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon: Kanna no Nichijou and Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon: Elma no OL Nikki spin-off series.
