Voice actress and singer Tomo Sakurai announced on her Twitter account that she will come out retirement and return to the industry. She said that she will also be more active on Twitter and Instagram.
Prior to her announcement, she has already had minor roles in Koutetsujou no Kabaneri Movie 3: Unato Kessen and Soukyuu no Fafner: Dead Aggressor - The Beyond, reprising her roles as Mumei's mother as Anila Aurobindo Ghose, respectively.
Sakurai announced her retirement in September 2016 due to having difficulties with her voice.
Sakurai began her career in 1987 with her first role as herself in Cream Lemon: Lemon Angel. She also performed the third ending songs for Choujin Gakuen Gowcaizer: The Voltage Fighters and Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai.
Some of her voice roles include Mylene Flare Jenius from Macross 7, Misao Makimachi from Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Kenkaku Romantan, Hinowa from Gintama, and Shayla Shayla El Hazard: The Alternative World.
