
The World Trigger Channel Vol.2 livestream event announced a pair of supporting cast and theme song performers for the third season on Wednesday. The new season is scheduled to air on Sundays beginning October 10 at 1:30 a.m. on TV Asahi.
Ryouta Takeuchi (Mahoutsukai no Yome) is joining the cast as Michael Cronin, an engineer at the Tamakoma Branch. Mamiko Noto (Net-juu no Susume) is playing Yuri Rindou, Takumi's niece and an operator for the Tamakoma First unit.
J-rock band Kami wa Saikoro wo Furanai is returning from the second season to perform the opening theme "Time Factor." J-Pop duo FantasticYouth is performing the ending "Ungai Shoukei." The voice cast and main staff members are returning from the second season.
World Trigger adapts Daisuke Ashihara's sci-fi battle action manga, which originally began in Weekly Shounen Jump in February 2013. The manga returned from a nearly two-year hiatus in October 2018 and switched to Jump SQ. in December that year. Shueisha published the 23rd volume on February 4.
Produced by Toei Animation, the first television anime began airing in Fall 2014. The anime series was originally listed for 50 episodes, but was later extended to 73 episodes. The second season aired in 12 episodes in Winter 2021. Crunchyroll simulcast the anime season as they aired in Japan.
